Maryville Manhandles Hornets In MEC Opener

      The Maryville Spoofhounds used a strong rushing game, an effective passing game and a smothering defense to beat Chillicothe 54-9 in the conference opener.
     Maryville scored on their opening drive, Chillicothe answered with a 45 yard field goal from Wagner Chapman, but it was all Maryville after that. The 'Hounds scored on every drive except the final one play of the first half, when time ran out.
    While both teams had 13 first downs, the rest of the stats were all Maryville, with 371 yards rushing and 169 yards passing for a total of 540 yards on 44 plays including a 90 yard pass play for a touchdown late in the 3rd and a 97 yard touchdown run late in the 4th.
    Maryville had five different running backs with a carry of more than 25 yards
