The Chillicothe Hornet soccer season came to an end with close and hard fought 2-1 double overtime loss at home to St Pius X in the first round of the State Soccer tournament.
     In a battle of two strong defensive teams, the Hornets scored first with just under 22 minutes left in the game off a Gavin Seeley goal off a Bryce Hague assist.
     After multiple tries, St Pius found the net with just 5:41 left in the match to tie it at 1-1, which stood for the rest of regulation.
     After a scoreless first overtime, Pius hit the game winning goal off a penalty kick in front of the Hornets net with 5:35 left in the second overtime.
     St. Pius improves to 14-9-2 and will face KC Lincoln College Prep on the 28th while Chillicothe ends at 12-9-1.
