The Chillicothe Hornets Girls Golf team (5-0)
participated in the Central Invitational Tournament in St Joseph. The
nineteen team event was played at the Moila Country Club. Chillicothe
placed 6th with a score of 408, improving six places from the twelfth
place of 2016 and 72 strokes. Staley won with a score of 350. Freshman
Hallie Jones placed ninth in the 86 player field with a score of 90.
Alyssa Freeman of Staley and McKenna Rice from Lee's Summit West tied for
medalist with a score of 81.
Hallie birdied holes three, four, and ten, along with
pars on three other holes. On hole number three, Hallie chipped in for her
third shot on the par four. Junior Riley Brobst placed 24th with a score
of 100. Riley birdied hole number ten and parred three others. Maddie Lamp
placed 36 with a score of 107. Maddie parred the toughest hole on the
course, the par five hole number five, along with hole number 10. Hannah
Haakonstad shot a 111 for 41st place and Lexi Hargrave shot 119 for 62nd
place. The Hornets play Wednesday, September 6 at the Platte County
Invitational. |
