Liberty North won the opening tip off, scored in the first five
seconds of the game and rolled on to a 63-38 victory in the opening
of the Savannah Tournament. The Eagles scored the first 13 points of
the game and held Chillicothe scoreless until 36 seconds were left
in the first quarter.
Chillicothe coach Tim Cool says there obviously
was trouble with his team early in the game.
The Hornets trailed 41-15 at the half and 56-22
after three quarters. Chillicothe was led by Jacob McKiddy with 9,
DJ Gannan with 8 off the bench, Tyler Reger, Spencer Hart and Jake
Mathew with 4 each, Nic Voorhies with 3, Tyler Clampitt, Tyler
Midgyett and Ryan Smith with 2 each and playing time for Mitchell
Smith and Blake Rassmussen. Liberty North was led by 6’2” Junior
Zach Starr with 21 points in less than three quarters of playing
time.
