"Continued
improvement" was the them of the 2011-12 Chillicothe Girls
Basketball post-season banquet. While Chillicothe went 10-16 and
doubled their win total over last season, the team struggled in the
last half the season, going just 1 and 9 after losing their only
Senior, Sarah Baldwin, to a season ending knee injury during the win
over Trenton. The Lady Hornets dropped their final 8 games of the
season with out the leadership and inside dominance of Baldwin.
The ever-upbeat Coach Rachael Parkey challenged the
girls to work harder than ever before in the off season, reminding
them of the improvement shown from last year. "This time next year,
I want us to still be playing basketball" commented the second year
head coach.
In the
statistical categories, Maddie Williams led the team in points with
278 for a 10.69 point per game average. Sarah Baldwin finished with
a 10.75 point per game average through 16 games. Williams also led
in assists with 85 and steals with 56. Maggie Graves led the team in
rebounds with 165.
