The Lafayette Irish were firing on all cylinders in a 69-42 win over Chillicothe. The Irish were up by 37 at one point in the fourth quarter. Chillicothe's first basket came off an in-bounds play to cut the lead to 4-2 in the opening minutes of the first quarter. Lafayette would respond with a 19-0 run and Chillicothe would never be able to catch up again.
    Hornets coach Tim Cool said the Irish have the potential for a deep run in the play-offs, and the Irish showed why, mixing all facets of the game. Full court presses, tenacious defense, up tempo offense mixed with patient half court plays were all in the Lafayette repartee.
     The fourth quarter became a three point shoot out with Chillicothe's 6'5" Junior Ryan Smith hitting four of his five treys in the fourth quarter. Smith finished with 19 points including all 14 of the team's points in the final quarter.
