Joseph LeBlond Quarterback Mathew McCullough connected on
9 of 15 passes for 229 yards and 5 touchdowns to beat
Chillicothe for the first time in history 34-14 at
Missouri Western State University. Flanker Back Tyler
Thrasher caught 4 of the 8 passes for 128 yards and 3
touchdowns.
Chillicothe had problems stopping LeBlond's
offense most of the night. The Golden Eagle's lone running
back, Austin Dawkins had 22 carries for 191 yards.
The Hornets threatened to score first when they marched
down the field, but fumbled the ball on the 14 yard line.
LeBlond recovered and went 86 yards in 4 plays when McCullough found Thrasher for a 69
yard pass for the first score. The two would connect twice
more in the 2nd on 55 and 42 yards, and once again in the 3rd
for 39 yards. |
Chillicothe finally found a ground game,
especially in the second half. The Hornets ended with 250
yards rushing including Senior Fullback DJ Gannan with 94
yards in 16 carries and one touchdown. However, the passing
game for Chillicothe struggled, going 3 of 15 for 37 yards and
an interception.
The Hornets Tyler Long scored the final touchdown for
Chillicothe on a 3 yard run.
Chillicothe heads back to St Joseph next Friday when
they take on Lafayette. |
