The Bunns
were everywhere on the court: Bunns on the post, Bunns driving
the lane, Bunns scoring. It was the night of Bunns for the
Fort Osage Girls Basketball team: Junior Raven Bunn and
Freshman Paige Bunn. The Bunn family combined for 39 of their
team's 64 points in a win over Chillicothe in the Kearney
Tournament consolation semi-final game.
Paige Bunn had the hot hand early in the game with 10
of her team's first 12 points. After getting into foul
trouble, older sister Raven Bunn took over, scoring 18 of her
team high 21 points in the second half. Paige ended with 18
points on the night.
Chillicothe again relied on Junior Maggie Graves, who
had 28 points including 12 of 17 at the free throw line.
Chillicothe tied the game early at 2-2, but gave up a
10-0 run to Fort Osage and could never recover. The lady
Hornets trailed by double figures much of the 2nd quarter but
narrowed the lead to just five in the middle of the 3rd
quarter, but again gave up a modest 5-0 run and trailed by as
many as 18 in the final quarter.
