A Trent Moore basket
from the paint with 6 seconds left turned out to be the winning
basket for the Chillicothe Hornets, who edged Macon on the road
49-48. Moore swished the six foot jumper from in front of the basket
to give the Hornets their only lead in the fourth quarter.
The
drama was far from over. After two time outs, Macon in bounded the
ball at mid-court with 2.7 seconds left. The play went to 6'7" Trey
Kothe who had a good look at the basket from a step inside of the
free throw line, however the shot hit hard off the front of the rim
and into the Hornet players hands for the win.
Neither team led by more than 6 points in the game with
several lead changes and tie-ups. Chillicothe had problems at time
with Macon's two 6'7" players Jon Murray and Trey Kothe, who
finished 12 and 10 points respectively.
The game was the first one back for Tyler Clampitt, who
hasn't played since the season opener due to an injury. Clampitt
finished with 12 points to tie for scoring leader honors with Trent
Moore. |
