For the second straight game Chillicothe Senior Trent Moore provided
the game-winning shot, this time to help his Hornets team to a 55-53
overtime win over Mid Buchanan in the St Joseph Bishop LeBlond
tournament.
Tyler Clampitt gave Chillicothe a one point lead with
31 seconds left in regulation, but with 6.4 seconds left Chillicothe
fouled. Mid Buch's Austin Skaggs hit one of two free throws to tie
the game. A Mason Hayward baseline trey missed it's mark at the
buzzer
Chillicothe won the tip to start the 4 minute
overtime and wasted little time hitting a trey. The Hornets
held the lead until 8 seconds left when Skaggs hit a low post shot
to tie the game.
Following time outs, Chillicothe's Tyler Clampitt
drove the lane, drew the double team defenders and passed the ball
to Moore on the left baseline. Moore calmly hit a 12 foot baseline
jumper with less than a second left for the 55-53 win. |
