The Chillicothe Hornets lost their third Homecoming game
in four years with a 14-0 loss to St Joseph LeBlond. It
marked the first time the Hornets were shut out in their
own homecoming since 1957.
After holding LeBlond on a fourth down at the 22,
Chillicothe gave the ball back two plays later when Cort
Patrick had the first of two interceptions. It took just
four plays for LeBlond to cover the 41 yards, capped by a
35 yard pass play down the sidelines
.The rest of the first half was played mostly between the
20 yard lines. A short punt by Chillicothe in the
opening drive of the second half gave LeBlond the ball at
the Chillicothe 45 yard line. A 14 yard run and a 21 yard
pass helped cover the distance that ended with a 1 yard
quarterback keeper touchdown.
Chillicothe's offense never clicked, picking up just 70 yards
rushing and 7 of 18 passing for 63 yards. LeBlond
Quarterback Mathew McCullough, a four year starter,
accounted for 200 of the LeBlond 258 yards of offense with
80 yards on the ground and 120 yards in the air. Both
teams are now 3-2 on the season and 1-2 in MEC play |
