The Chillicothe Lady
Hornets used a strong inside presence and good defense to beat
Maryville for the second time in a week. The Lady Hornets
grabbed the third place trophy with a 57-24 win over the Lady
Spoofhounds.
Senior Post Player Maggie Graves stayed active inside
the paint all night, finishing with a game high 19 points,
including 11 of 14 from the free throw line. Freshman Katelyn
Parkey scattered 14 points over four quarters coming off the
bench.
Maryville scored the first points in the game but
Chillicothe quickly built a lead, expanding it to 12 by the
end of the first quarter. Maryville's only trey of the game
closed it to 9 to start the 2nd, but Chillicothe answered and
led by double digits the rest of the game.
Chillicothe made frequent use of the free throw line,
hitting 21 of 33 attempts. Every Lady Hornet that suited up
got into the game. |
