The Chillicothe Lady Hornets hit 11 of 14 free throws
in the fourth quarter to secure a 57-53 home win over St
Joseph Bishop LeBlond in the conference opener for both teams.
LeBlond hit a trey to close the first quarter with a 4
point lead. A Free Throw to open the second quarter made the
lead five points, but Chillicothe turned up the heat, going on
an 8-0 run to lead by three. The Lady Hornets wouldn't trail
again, but LeBlond would make it interesting.
LeBlond closed scored back to back buckets in the
middle of the third to close it to one point but again
Chillicothe went on a tear with a 12-0 run to end the third
with a 13 point lead.
The Lady Eagles scored 27 points in the fourth
quarter, doubling their effort through the first three
quarters with both deuces and two treys, but the free throw
line would decide the game. LeBlond closed the game to two
points in the final seconds but couldn't get any closer as
Chillicothe made two free throws with seconds left to secure
the win. |
