Karson Keithley had the hot hand at the free throw
line, hitting 10 of 14 4th quarter free throws to help the
Chillicothe Lady Hornets to a 59-56 win over Lawson in the
Cameron Tournament. Keithley finished with a team high 18
points.
Chillicothe traded baskets with Lawson twice in the
opening minute, but starts to fall behind, trailing by nine
points twice early in the second quarter. Chillicothe hit a
trey and a deuce to end the first half trailing by just three.
Chillicothe made some adjustments at half and had built
a three point lead by the end of the third quarter. A three
point play by Lawson to start the fourth tied the game, but
Chillicothe hit a trey and went on to lead the rest of the
game.
Lawson was led by 5'6" Junior Kerstin Huffman who
finished with 26 points including scoring 21 of the team's 29
second half points. |
