It was
too much Mallory McAndrews as the Benton Junior Guard lit up
Chillicothe for 27 points to lead Benton past Chillicothe
47-42 in the district semifinals.
Chillicothe led by as many as five points in the fourth
quarter, but two Benton free throws were followed by McAndrews
first of two treys from five feet behind the top of the key.
Chillicothe took a one point lead later in the quarter on a
pair of free throws, but Benton finished with a deuce and five
free throws, outscoring Chillicothe 7-1 in the final minutes
to win the game.
Chillicothe, which averages 3.5 treys a game and
nearly 11 trey attempts a game, was just 1 of 5 behind the arc
against a stiff and very physical Benton defense. |
