Two free
throws and a blocked shot was the difference in a Chillicothe
Boys Basketball 38-37 win over Conway in the Camdenton Shoot
Out. Chillicothe's Walker Graves hit one of two free throws to
tie the game with 1:18 left. Westley Brandsgaard hit one of
two free throws to give Chillicothe a 1 point lead with 52
seconds left.
After a couple of time outs, Conway in bounded the ball
from one low post to the other low post to their leading
scorer, who's low post shot with 3 seconds left was blocked by
Cade Snyder. A Conway reserve tracked down the ball but missed
a rushed trey for the 1 point Hornets win.
Conway, who had only three players shoot the ball prior
to the final desperation shot, built a ten point lead in the
third quarter. Following a no-call by the officials after a
player bumped Zach Trout to the ground, Coach Tim Cool took a
time out to talk with the officials. By the end of the time
out, Cool had been called for a technical foul.
Conway made the two free throws for the 10 point lead,
but Chillicothe players responded with a 16-2 run into the
early 4th quarter. . |
