Chillicothe used a strong second half defense and plenty of
free throws to beat Strafford 54-38 at the Camdenton Shootout.
Chillicothe trailed most of the first half and was down
by seven points at intermission. The Hornets increased their
defensive pressure in the second half, holding Strafford to
just 2 points in the third quarter.
Walker Graves took over in the fourth quarter with 15
of his 26 points scored in the final stanza including several
three points plays off a free throw following a made basket.
Graves was awarded the Game MVP award by the shoot out hosts.
In all the Hornets team made 12 out of 15 free throws in the
final quarter.
Strafford, which averages 65 points per game, was
held to just two field goals in the entire second half. Their
38 points total is their lowest of their season so far. |
