The Lafayette Irish used a strong 2nd quarter to build a lead
and used the free throw line to keep it in a 70-58 win over
Chillicothe for the district championship
Lafayette built an early lead at the start of the
game. Chillicothe closed the gap to tie it up later in the
first quarter, but Lafayette would lead the rest of the game.
The Irish
led by as man as 18 points in the third quarter. Chillicothe
closed it to 11 late in the quarter but could not get the game
to a single digit margin. The Hornets closed the game to 10
with 2:32 left in the game but Lafayette went on a 7-0 run
including 5 free throws to once again pull away from
Chillicothe.
The Irish hit 25 of 39 free throws in the game
while Chillicothe hit 12 of 19. |
