The Chillicothe Hornets Girls' Golf Team (2-0)
hosted Trenton and Putnam County at Green Hills Golf Course. The Hornets
won with a team score of 188, followed by Putnam County (225) and Trenton
with a 231. Senior Riley Brobst tied sophomore Hallie Jones recording her
best nine hole score of 42. Riley and Hallie tied for medalist followed by
Trenton's Werthen Gass (43). Riley birdied holes eleven and fourteen
(played the back nine), and parred holes ten and eighteen. Hallie had a
close match, paired up with Trenton senior Werthen Gass. The competitive
2017 state qualifier Jones, played under control all of the way to the
end, holding off her 2017 state qualifying opponent. Seniors Maddie Lamp
and Hannah Haakonstad completed the Hornets score with scores of 51 and 53
respectively. The Hornets travel to Cameron on Tuesday, September 4 to
play Cameron, Benton and Lafayette. |
