*Final Season Statistics*

11/27 at St Joseph Benton 68, Chillicothe 37

6' '7" Senior Johnny Coy scored 14 points and had several blocks in the first quarter to help his St Joseph Benton team to a 68-37 non-conference home win over Chillicothe. Coy, who has signed to play for Arizona State next year, finished with 30 points in just over two-and-a-half quarters work, but gave his hometown crowd a scary moment. Coy drove the baseline late in the 3rd quarter and leaped over a Chillicothe defender to nail a one handed dunk, his only one of the game. However, Coy landed on the Chillicothe defender and both went down on the court. Coy got up limping to the bench. He returned briefly in the 4th quarter and didn't appear to be seriously injured from the collision.
Benton led 22-8 after the first quarter and 37-16 at the half. In addition to Coy's 30 points, Luke Talbot had 21 for the Cardinals. Chillicothe was hampered by Benton's size, a problem that will face the Hornets all season. Chillicothe's starting five are listed as 6'1", 6'0" and three at 5'10". Sophomore Bryce Young led Chillicothe with 14 points. The game was the season opener for both teams.

11/30 Macon 73, at Chillicothe 58

Macon used their inside game to beat Chillicothe 73-58 at the Chillicothe Middle School Field House. Macon opened a nine point lead after the first quarter and expanded that to 11 points early in the second quarter before Chillicothe went on a 12-0 run to take a one point lead. "We made a really good run in the second quarter" commented Hornets coach Matt Brownsberger. "The game got into transition where we wanted it." Macon made an adjustment to the Hornets speed and countered with their own 12-0 run and went on to lead by 9 at the intermission.
In the second half, Macon opened up a double digit lead midway thru the third quarter and never relinquished the advantage. "We have to work on getting easier shots, getting to the foul line, making our free throws then set our defense." stated Brownsberger. "What really hurt us was we turned the ball over 21 times and only forced Macon into 25. When you get out-rebounded by 17 and win the turnovers by only four, you're talking about them getting a lot more possessions than us and that really was the difference in the ball game."
Macon was led by 6' 6" Robert Freeman with 19, 6' 5" John Taylor with 18 points and 6' 2" Dylan Bailey with 13. Chillicothe was led by Bryce Young with 24 points, including four out of six three point attempts. Correy Miller contributed 12 points.
