The Chillicothe
Hornets scored the tying touchdown with seven seconds left, then
used Overtime to beat Benton in a District Playoff game.
The teams spent the regular game trading touchdowns.
Benton scored twice, Chillicothe scored twice, but then Benton
scored again twice, once on a blocked punt return.
Chillicothe scored twice in the late fourth quarter,
both on 1 yard runs by Gage Leamer. Griff Bonderer scored the
conversion on the first touchdown. With the score tied after the
second touchdown, Chillicothe failed on another 2 point conversion
attempt.
Benton was up first in overtime, getting the ball
on the 25 yard line. Benton was whistled for a 5 yard penalty on the
first play. After two incomplete passes, Benton gained 10 yards on a
Garrison Dydell for 4th and 5 to go. A pass to the end zone
bounced off the receiver's right hand.
On Chillicothe's Overtime series, Damarcus Kelow
ran for 13 yards, Gage Leamer was stopped at the line of scrimmage,
and on a 2nd and ten, Griff Bonderer took a Leamer pitch out on the
left side to the left corner of the end zone for the win
