The
Chillicothe hornets are headed to the consolation round of the
Cameron tournament with a win Thursday over the Kansas City
Northeast Vikings 44 to 26. The Vikings scored 16 points in
the first quarter but only added 10 to it throughout the rest
of the game.
Coach Tim Cool said he was concerned with Northeast
because they are very quick and good with the ball, but he
said the Hornets showed great defense and played teamwork.
Cool said he was very proud of his team who came out playing
harder and smarter after the first quarter by taking away
northeast’s first and best option. That made the Vikings go to
their second choice and that really changed the game.
Cool mentioned sophomore players that played that
stepped up tonight and are learning and improving by playing
these games. He also praised specifically the only senior on
the squad, Chace Corbin, who came off the bench and was a huge
part of the game |
