The Chillicothe Cross Country runners showed
continued improvement in Tuesday's Smithville meet that featured larger
schools. Coach Jennifer Dickson said "I think it will make us better when
we hit districts after spending multiple meets racing against larger
schools and faster competition."
Every Hornets male runner hit a career Personal Record
with an average improved time of 54.2 seconds.
The Hornets finished 7th out of 11 runners with a score of 149. Cain Evans
finished 21st, Clayton Savage was 26th, Austin Lyford 33rd, Carter Shipers
34th, Stephen Parkes 35th, Alton Keller 47th and Logan Gregory 53rd.
On the girls side, the Lady Hornets finished 5th with
Kadence Shipers leading the team with a 15th place finish. Aliyah Briner
was 23rd, Yoo Jung Lee 27th, Juliann Gabrielson 28th, Alice Hurtgen 32nd
and Karissa Fostek 41st.
