Great night on the hilly(ier than expected) MWSU Campus which ended with both girls & boys finishing 2nd & 8 All-Conference Chilli Runners!

Juliann Gabrielson - 8th
Aliyah Briner - 12th
Alice Hurtgen - 13th

Cain Evans - 8th
Austin Lyford - 12th
Clayton Savage - 14th
Carter Shipers' 20th & Alton Keller's 22nd place finishes weren't quite enough to earn them All -Conference honors, but definitely contributed to an overall 2nd place finish as a team. The 4th & 5th place runners are usually key to an overall team finish. On the ladies side, we were in a close race with St. Pius for 1st, and their 4th & 5th place runners got us by just 15-20sec to grab the overall win by 7 points. Still very proud of how they competed and raced tonight. It was a pretty tough course and almost all of our top 5 runners passed opponents in the final 20ft of the race. They fight to the end every race & it's so hard to do in those final minutes when it hurts the most. It's very easy to give in, but they don't. You can't coach/teach grit & perseverance --- you either have it or you don't, so I'm very proud to have runners that compete & fight no matter what!
