The St Joseph Lafayette
Irish continues to be unbeaten against Missouri Basketball
teams with a 60-51 win over Chillicothe. All six of
Lafayette's losses are to out of state teams. The win wasn't
easy for the Irish. Chillicothe led at times in the Second
Quarter and was with in six points in the middle of the Fourth
Quarter.
It was a break-out game for Hornet 6'4" Jaishon White
who was filling in for James Mathew, who was out of action for
the evening. White had 18 points, going 9-of-9 from the low
post.
Two players accounted for most of Lafayette's points
with Caden Bennett with 25 points and Mikey Thomas with 18,
which combined were 43 of their team's 60 points. Lafayette
was also deadly at the free throw line, hitting 19 of 21
compared to Chillicothe's 8 of 8.
It was the first time in 10 meetings that
Chillicothe closed the final gap to single digits. It was
Lafayette's 29th consecutive win over Chillicothe. |
