The Chillicothe Hornets Soccer team suffered their first set back of
the season in a 7-0 home loss to Marshall. It took Marshall 20
minutes to find the net but made up for lost time to lead 5-0 by
halftime
The Owls scored two more early in the second half for
the final 7-0 score. They were active on offense, with Chillicothe's
James Mathew making 14 saves on goal and Carson Steele with 6 saves.
Statistics show Chillicothe had just two shots on goal,
both from Wyatt Brandsgaard and both unsuccessful.
Coach Tim Cunningham said "Tonight was a very difficult
challenge for our guys. Marshall is a quality team, and although we
played extremely hard, we struggled with their speed, skill and
talent. I think our guys will take the many lessons we learned
tonight and continue to get better, together."
