The Bishop LeBlond Golden Eagles used solid defense to beat
Chillicothe 4-0 in St Joseph. LeBlond had 15 shots on goal
with three corner kicks. Chillicothe was held to seven shots on goal
and no corner kicks.
LeBlond scored 16 minutes into the game with an Adam
Seiter goal. He repeated the effort 3 minutes later for a quick 2--0
lead.
Late in the first half LeBlond scored off a Cooper
Waterman unassisted goal for a 3-0 lead at halftime. Their final
goal came 15 minutes into the second half on a Davis Jungbluth
unassisted goal.
Chillicothe had shots on goal from Jackson Reeter,
Jacob Adams three times, Gabe Hansen, Sam Reeter and Wyatt
Brandsgaard.
Hornets keeper James Mathew had 11 saves on goal for
the game, a 73.3 success percentage.
Coach Tim Cunningham stated: "Our guys played really
hard once again tonight, and LeBlond is a quality team who took
advantage of a couple of mistakes. Our inexperience showed on
occasion tonight, but I am really proud of how our guys competed." |
