The
Chillicothe soccer team battled to the end but came up short in a
2-3 loss to St Pius X. The Hornets scored first late in the first
half, 31 minutes into the game with a Jacob Adams shot off a Wyatt
Brandsgaard assist for a 1-0 lead at intermission..
In the first half, Chillicothe had unsuccessful shots
on goal by Jacob Adams and Wyatt Brandsgaard. Pius had seven
unsuccessful shots on goal in the first half.
Pius made quick work on offense early in the second
half with two goals in the first four minutes of the second half. The
Hornets stayed active, with unsuccessful shots by the Reeter trio:
Jackson, Charlie and Sam. Gabe Hanson also had a shot on
goal, but it took Jacob Adams foot to net the ball 19 minutes into
the second half off a Sam Reeter assist to tie the score.
Chillicothe had more unsuccessful
chances with missed shots from Sam Reeter and Jacob Adams. Maryville
took the lead with a goal 28 minutes into the second half, The
Hornets had more chances late in the game with shots from Jacob
Adams, Gabe Hansen and Josh Adams, but all were unsuccessful
James Mathew had a busy night on goal with 17
saves in the game,
