The Chillicothe soccer team scored early and beat St Joseph Benton 7
to 1 at Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium. The Hornets netted seven of their
18 shots while Benton only scored on 1 of their 6 shots. The Hornets
Carson Steele made the five saves at the net.
Wyatt Brandsgaard had the first of his hat trick night 14
minutes into the game off a Charlie Reeter assist. five minutes
later it was Jacob Adams, also with the first of his hat trick night
with the goal and Jackson Reeter the assist. Just two minutes later
Adams had his second goal off a Jadon Collins assist for a 3-0 lead.
Benton's lone goal came 24 minutes into the game. Wyatt
Brandsgaard had his second goal off a Japhet Ojeaga assist to make
the score
4-1 heading into intermission.
Brandsgaard completed his trifecta six minutes into the
second half thanks to a Sam Reeter assist. Then Jacob Adams joined
the honors with his third goal of the night off a Jackson Reeter
assist.
Three minutes later Reeter scored off a Brandsgaard
assist for the final 7-1 Hornets win
Coach Tim Cunningham said it was "A really good bounce
back match for our guys. We moved the ball really well through the
midfield and finished on many of our opportunities. Hopefully this
match will give us confidence going into the Moberly Tournament this
weekend."
