Chillicothe's Jacob Adams had a hat trick and Sam Reeter had three
assists to help the Hornets return to the win column in an 8-2 win
over Lafayette in Chillicothe.
Chillicothe wasted little time on offense, attempting
their first shot 30 seconds into the game. The attempt was
unsuccessful but it sparked a healthy offense by the Hornets. Their
first goal came five minutes into the first half by Jacob Adams off
a Gabe Hansen assist.
Adams scored a second time 12 minutes into the first
half, this one off a Sam Reeter assist for a 2-0 lead.
Jackson Reeter made it 3-0 just 15 minutes into the game
off a Charlie Reeter assist. The scoring barrage continued three
minutes later with a Reeter connection: Jackson with the goal and
Charlie with the assist. Wyatt Brandsgaard made it 4-0 off another
Sam Reeter's assist and Chillicothe was rolling 5-0, not yet midway
through the first half.
A Gabe Hansen goal eight minutes later off Sam Reeter's
third
assist made it a 5-0 Hornets lead at intermission.
Adams completed hit hat trick two minutes into the second
half, unassisted. Two minutes later Sam Reeter made it
7-zip in favor of the hometown Hornets.
Lafayette scored 13 minutes into the second half. Later
in the game Jonny Sanchez joined the Hornets scoreboard thanks to a
Japhet Ojeaga assist. Lafayette wrapped up the scoring 34 minutes
into the second half..
Carson Steele for Chillicothe had eight saves on goal.
