9/30/2022 Chillicothe 42, at Lafayette 7

     The Chillicothe Hornets kept the traditional powerhouse Lafayette Irish winless on the season so far with a dominating Hornets win 42-7 on the road.
     The Hornets took the opening kick off and drove down the field 80 yards for the touchdown by Corbin Rodenberg from one yard away. After a Lafayette penalty on the PAT  the Hornets failed to make a two-point conversion.
     Lafayette put together their best drive of the game next, scoring on a three yard pass play and kicked the PAT for a 7-6 Lafayette lead. It would be their last shining moment of the game. Chillicothe scored the next 36 points in the game. 
      Cayden Potter scored on an 8-yard run late in the first quarter but the 2-0 point conversion failed for a 12-7 Hornets lead at the end of the 1st quarter.
     In the second quarter Silas Midgyett ran it in from 18 yards away. Again the Hornets failed on the conversion. Just over a minute later Griff Bonderer intercepted a pass and returned it 15 yards to the end zone o give the Hornets a 26-7 halftime lead.
     The Hornets continued the onslaught in the third with a Javon Kille from one yard away for a 34-7 advantage. One minute later the defense took over again with a tackle in the end zone for a safety. The final score was Midgyett's final touchdown on a physical 56 yard run.
