On
Thursday evening, the Lexington Minutemen varsity tennis team played at
Danner Park against the Chillicothe Lady Hornets. Unfortunately, Lexington
was only able to provide five players, so a variety of matches were played
to maximize the evening. Overall, the team won the dual 7-0. Scores were
as follows:
Cami Carpenter & Madison Kieffer won #1 Doubles 8-0 against Lexington's
Bell & Petray.
Bryton BeVelle & Micah Crowe won #2 Doubles 8-1 against McMillan & Miller.
Cami Carpenter beat McDowell 8-0.
Rylee Washburn beat Bell 8-0.
Izzie Garr beat McMillan 8-1.
Bryton BeVelle beat Miller 6-0 (ending early due to a Lexington injury).
Micah Crowe beat Petray 8-1.
And in a bonus match for more experience, Rylee Washburn beat McDowell
8-0.
The Lady Hornets move on to the 10-school Benton Tournament on Friday
