The Lady Hornets varsity tennis team spent the entire day on the Cameron
High School courts battling in individual or double matches for tournament
medals in all ranked positions -- #1 Singles, #2 Singles, #1 Doubles, #2
Doubles, & #3 Doubles.
For the Hornets, Cami Carpenter played #1
Singles, Madison Kieffer #2 Singles, Rylee Washburn & Izzy Garr #1
Doubles, Bryton BeVelle & Anna Pfaff #2 Doubles, and Micah Crowe & Keonnia
Morgan #3 Doubles. The team spent the morning battling through a highly
competitive pool play round of three matches each before being placed into
one final match bracket for places and medals.
At the end of the day, Chillicothe's #2 Doubles of
BeVelle & Pfaff and the #3 Doubles of Crowe & Morgan captured third place
medals for their respective brackets. #1 Doubles Washburn and Garr ended
up fourth in their bracket while both Singles' players Carpenter & Kieffer
ended seventh in their brackets.
Final scores were as follows:
Crowe & Morgan lost to Higginsville, beat Savannah, beat Cameron, and beat
Warrensburg.
BeVelle & Pfaff lost to Higginsville, beat Savannah, beat Cameron, and
beat Warrensburg.
Washburn & Garr beat Higginsville, lost to Savannah, beat Cameron, and
lost to Lafayette.
Kieffer lost to Higginsville, lost to Savannah, lost to Cameron, and beat
Lafayette.
Carpenter lost to Higginsville, lost to Savannah, lost to Cameron, and
beat Lafayette.
