Coach Jenny Dickson says:
"XC Started off the season with a fast 2-miler on the MO Western Course
last night! Boys finished 2nd place overall (Out of 29 total teams & 12
full teams) to a tough Benton team & 3 Hornet boys earned Top 10 Honors
out of a field of over 130 runners. Luke Thompson led the way with another
win!
Medalists (top 20) out of 131:
Luke Thompson - 1st (10:17)
Cain Evans - 5th (10:46)
Alton Keller - 9th (11:24)
Yoo Jung Lee - 17th (14:33)
Overall this was a really strong start to our season! They've not raced a
2miler since middle school, so I liked starting the season off with a
fast, all out race to see what speed we have right now. Trace Akers
(12:14) & Zeph O'Berry (12:30) both had strong races & finished just out
of a medal range (both top 30) to help secure 2nd.
We are excited to see what we have in the full 5k distance next week as we
head to Lafayette County, where our middle school XC Hornets will kick off
their season!
