Coach Jenny Dickson says:
We traveled to Priory High School in The Lou
yesterday for a random meet to replace the Platte County one that was
canceled. I think it's a positive to get to go to a new area & have to run
a new course against different competition occasionally, so I found the
opportunity and "ran with it!" :)
While not a large meet in terms of quantity, these
teams were all primarily Class 3-5 schools out of STL. Despite the heat,
hills, & swarms of aggressive bees/wasps that got many of our runners as
they went through the woods in the first half a mile, everyone ran quite
well!! Luke Thompson brought home another win, & Cain Evans followed him
in for another Runner Up finish on the complete other side of the
state!
Top 10 medaled and we had 4 earn one! Luke Thomson -
1st - 17:10, Cain Evans - 2nd - 17:30, YJ Lee - 5th - 23:40,
Sophie Hurtgen - 10th 25:27 (beating a girl at the line to grab a medal by
.39 of a second)!
