On Wednesday evening, the lady hornets' tennis team
hosted its first team dual match at Danner Park under cool, cloudy
conditions against the Savannah High School. This was a big, early
matchup as it matters already for the Midland Empire Conference
seeding as well as the eventual district team seeding. Savannah
walked in with a strong, deep team returning four of their top six
varsity starters, including a returning state medalist at the helm.
With the Lady Hornets only returning one varsity starter, there were
lots of new faces and pairs on the courts. Chillicothe battled hard
all night, taking most games to deuce but eventually losing as a
varsity team 1-8

#2 Singles -- Bonderer lost 6-8 to Alexander
#3 Singles -- Gatson lost 2-8 to Hare
#4 Singles -- Mathews lost 4-8 to Steele
#5 Singles -- Leppin lost 3-8 to Forney
#6 Singles -- Moore lost 8-8 (tiebreak 4-7) to Cope
