     " Joe Shy, season's star in Track, set a new record in every meet in which he participated. His best times in his events were as follows: 100-yard dash, 10.4 seconds; 220-yard dash, 23.3 seconds; 200-low hurdles, 23.4; broad jump, 22 feet 1.5 inches, 120-yard high hurdles, 16 seconds. Shy also high jumps but because of a strained back did not participate in the event this year."
